It may seem weird to use something like coconut oil on a part of your body that you're trying to grow hair on. After all, coconut oil is the type of ingredient we use in sunscreen, isn't it?
As it turns out, coconut oil is a product that is proving to be one of the most versatile and thoroughly beneficial available. It is one of the main active ingredients in skin care products, it is good for the health of the heart and it can be used to battle a range of different diseases and conditions. And to top it off it can be used to promote better hair growth both on the scalp and along the eyebrows.
The way in which it can be used so that it promotes stronger hair growth is when it is applied to sparse or thinning hair. The fact that hair growth is still coming from the follicles in the area means that the hair follicles may be damaged but not dead. There is a way that they can be nursed back to health.
The fact that coconut oil helps to enrich the skin means that by applying it regularly to the skin on the eyebrow ridges may improve the condition of the skin and that could mean the improvement of the health of the follicles. When this happens it is only a matter of time before hair growth begins again.
But there is another benefit that can be experienced and that is in the size and strength of the hair shafts themselves. Some of the properties of coconut oil helps it to penetrate the hair protein and improve the strength with which it grows. The life cycle of a strand of hair shortens as we get older and thin, brittle hair will break more easily than hair that is thicker. When coconut oil has penetrated the hair it enriches it and makes it less prone to breakage. The life cycle is lengthened and the turnover rate falls.
The result is eyebrows that grow stronger and thicker and take longer to fall out to be replaced by the next crop.
The important thing to remember is that eyebrow growth is a lot slower than hair growth on the scalp. It will take some patience and perseverance before results are seen. Daily application is necessary and this daily application has to take place over a matter of weeks and months to get the results that you are looking for.
Don't be discouraged by a perceived lack of results. By the time the follicles have been repaired and the skin in the area has become healthy enough to support strong hair growth it will have seemed like an eternity. But the end result should be a good healthy growth of eyebrows again and you can put the results down to the wonders of coconut oil.
